ShoMo & The Monkey Bunch
- "I love you. You love me. We're
a happy family...." A Purple Dinosaur. An irritated parent. Is that what we

their parents insane. Music that has bite to it while still being sweet.
Introducing Sho, Mo and the Monkey Bunch! Each song pays tribute to a
different musical style that speaks up to kids with musicality, humour and a
little bite. The first half of the album wakes you up and the second half
rocks you into sleep. If you like the music / humour of: The Who, The
Beatles, Shirley Temple, Spike Jones, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Steve
Martin, Sarah McLachlan, but you're still working with pull-ups then "Sho,
Mo and the Monkey Bunch" has a song for you.Sho, Mo and the Monkey Bunch are

traveling blues artists visiting Toronto. He has performed and/or recorded
with dozens of artists, including Otis Rush, Willie Big Eyes Smith, Etta
James, Bo Diddley and Blue Rodeo. His 1999 CD "Down in the Groove" was

their artistic contributions. Over the last seven years, Rik has produced
and participated in a variety of cultural initiatives with international

even more socially-conscious work at home and abroad ever since. Rik has

LAURA FERNANDEZ
- Singer songwriter pianist Laura
Fernandez was born in Madrid, Spain and lived in Switzerland before
immigrating to Canada as a young child. Her song writing is reflective of
these cultural influences as she writes and performs in both English and
Spanish. She is a well known painter and illustrator and often compares her
song writing to Vermeer's paintings and the quiet capture of moments in
time. Fascinated by portraits she describes her songs as self portraits and
her most intimate reflections on relationships and situations. Her songs are
open and revealing laying bare the nature of complex emotion. Laura
Fernandez was the winner of the best soft rock band at the New York
International Independent Music Festival. |

DANNY MARKS - In 2006, Danny
Marks is the current holder of the Toronto Blues Society's Blues with a
Feeling Award for lifetime achievement in music and broadcast. This iconic

Records' group, Edward Bear. After a span as a journey man session musician
throughout the seventies, Danny settled in to the club scene, establishing a
cult following as a genre bender in music and humor. A house band gig at
Toronto's famed Albert's Hall led him to host his own nation-wide TV show,
Stormy Monday. Through the eighties, Danny starred in CBC radio's hit series
the Hum Line. Most recently, Danny Marks recorded two original music albums,
Guitarchaeology and True, before paying tribute to Toronto's R&B roots with
Big Town Boy in 2005. Danny's in his fifth year as the radio host of
JAZZ.FM91's Saturday night blues show, bluz.fm. Danny's gearing up for
another busy summer of festivals and selected club dates, and delighted to
be part of a people's event such as this, for the only cause that matters,

Brian Gladstone -
Brian’s particular way of seeing things
through irony and old time approach reminds me of great artists as John
Prine, Dave Van Ronk, and Mississippi John Hurt. He is their own true son
and he continues their great sounds. (SUSA ONDA RADIO, ITALY) WHERE DOES
ONE BEGIN TO DESCRIBE BRIAN GLADSTONE? The man is such an anomaly on the
side of modern music; a self-propelled master of folk, a throwback to days
when music was simpler, yet somehow more touching. The Toronto-based
singer-songwriter is an early Bob Dylan, a guitar wizard on par with Jesse
Cook, and a lyricist who can evoke a plethora of emotions with a single
song. (CANEHDIEN.COM) With his countrified, playfully narrative lyrics, the
indie performer … recalls legendary storyteller John Prine. Psychedelic
Pholk Psongs is an eclectic 90 minutes of unadorned, twangy country, moody
folk and silly ditties. (TORONTO SUN) |
