Best of California Open Stage
- Gary 17 is the host of a weekly open stage at California Pub, 914 Pape Ave. at Mortimer in Toronto, as well as the publisher and editor of Toronto Moon Magazine (formerly to-nite 1993-2009) a weekly digital publication available by subscription covering the live music scene in the GTA and beyond.
Gary 17′s Toronto Moon California Open Stage is a weekly Tuesday evening open stage event taking place at California Pub in Toronto that is aimed at giving novice performers a way of honing their chops in front of a live audience as well as experienced songwriters and performers an opporunity to try out new material with a knowledgeable, appreciative audience. I endeavour to encourage talent development as well as to showcase and promote local artists through the weekly feature showcases and to provide a welcoming, informal mileu for songwriters of all genres to gather, share their talents and swap stories and experiences. It’s been observed that these evenings are like a mini-festival in one room and that is the vibe I try to foster. [email protected]
